Our Digital Leaders recently went to the Apple Centre in Belfast where they had a training session on Coding from Donna Lennon and her colleague.
During this session, children used Technical Support to answer scenario questions. They were introduced to a new Coding App called Swift Playgrounds where they learned how to use commands to move a character called Byte around a puzzle world, performing several different tasks and using Swift language to program. Finally, the children were introduced to Sphero, linked to the iPads and were able to program commands into the iPads to make the Sphero balls move around.
A fantastic morning's training was finished off by lunch at McDonalds, complete with McFlurry's!
