P1 and 2 had a fantastic day visiting Green Energy Wind farm. The visit tied in with Global Wind Day and thanks to Mrs Geraldine Flynn, the children learned all about wind turbines and the benefit of wind energy to our environment.
The day began and ended with a walk through the local countryside where the children thoroughly enjoyed learning about flora, fauna and the importance of road safety, singing songs along the way. A super successful trip right on our doorstep that we will definitely be visiting again.
A huge thank you to Green Energy for their generosity and providing the school with our very own Weather Station. Thank you as well to Mrs O'Connor for allowing us to take a short through her gardens and providing us with a snack along the way.
